This is the first entry in our litter diary for Rosie × Maverick, May 2026. We will add a new entry every week or so until the kittens leave for their new homes — and the whole diary stays here afterwards, so their families can look back on where it all began.
The arrival
On 25 May 2026, RAYANSHEL WHOLE-LOTTA-ROSIE delivered her first litter — and the first litter to carry our EzBritz prefix. The sire is HENBRITS TOPGUN MAVERICK, a cinnamon British Shorthair carrying dilute, so this pairing could surprise us with some lovely colours. [Placeholder — kitten count, sexes and colours to be confirmed.]
Rosie took to motherhood exactly as we hoped she would: calm, attentive and utterly devoted. Everyone fed within the first hours and the kitten room is warm, quiet and (for now) very sleepy.
Week one, day by day
The first week of a kitten’s life is mostly eating, sleeping and growing — weight gain is the number we watch like hawks. All kittens are weighed daily, and every kitten has gained steadily since birth. [Placeholder — birth weights and week-one weights to be added.]
[Placeholder — photos of the litter to be added once Ross uploads them — the image above is a placeholder.]
What happens next
Eyes open at around 7–10 days, and from week two the kittens start to look like tiny British Shorthairs rather than little jelly beans. The next diary entry will cover eyes opening, first colours showing and (with luck) first photos worth framing.
